BAD NEWS: Alcaraz super star recently declared that he would shortly be retiring due to…

Global No. 2 The 2024 Indian Wells Masters had a fantastic championship defense by Carlos Alcaraz last week. His journey to become the defending champion and the number two seed was not an easy one. To exacerbate matters, he had also suffered an ankle injury in his prior event, casting doubt on his fitness.

Alcaraz began his career right away in the second round because he was a seed. Alcaraz took advantage of Novak Djokovic’s defeat in the third round as the top seed and went on to win the Indian Wells title. This year’s championship match was replicated in the final.

Alcaraz faced and defeated Russian fighter Daniil Medvedev once more. The 20-year-old won his 13th career title in his 17th career final thanks to the victory over Medvedev. Alcaraz has won five of the 13 titles at the Masters-1000 level. In his brief career, it is the highest for him at any tier to date.

Consequently, he holds four ATP-500 titles, two ATP-250 titles, and two Grand Slam singles titles. Alcaraz accomplished an incredible feat by defeating some of the greatest names in history with the victory in Indian Wells. The current Wimbledon champion currently leads the ATP finals in win percentage.

He passed Rod Laver and Pete Sampras, who were tied for first place.

Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam singles champion, and legendary Swede Bjorn Borg round out the Top-5 with finals victory percentages of 71.01% and 70.96%, respectively. Rafael Nadal’s 70.96% victory percentage is just enough to keep him out of the Top 5.
