Due to some significant changes in their quarterback room, the Seattle Seahawks have garnered media attention early in the summer. However, this does not preclude them from adding further depth through the 2024 NFL Draft, which takes place next month.

The Seahawks are expecting former UCF Knights quarterback John Rhys Plumlee for a top-30 draft visit, according to 247Sports. Sam Howell, the quarterback for the Washington Commanders, was acquired by Seattle; however, Rhys Plumlee may only be considered a practice squad member with third-string status.

He played as a starting outfielder for both institutions, and in 2023, he went viral with the Knights after participating in a baseball game and then departing to prepare for UCF football’s spring game that same day.

In his first season at Ole Miss in 2019, he saw a lot of play as a backup and demonstrated his remarkable versatility by rushing 154 times for 1,023 yards and 12 touchdowns.

However, Rhys Davis returned to being a full-time quarterback and continued to produce impressive stats after joining UCF. He passed for a total of 4,857 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions in his two seasons with the Knights. During his final two seasons, he ran for 1,367 yards and 16 touchdowns, continuing to carve up defenses with his legs.

With his athletic versatility over the previous several seasons, Rhys Davis may be a good option if the Seahawks decide to take a chance on him with an undrafted pick or Day 3 pick.
