SO SAD: i am leaving Seattle Seahawks key player Myles Adams…

Wyman and Bob from Seattle Sports are joined every Thursday by John Schneider, general manager and president of football operations of the Seattle Seahawks, for in-depth discussions of the offseason building up to the NFL Draft.

Schneider on how the NFL Draft will affect the Seattle Seahawks if Sam Howell stays?

Many people tune in to hear Schneider every week, including former NFL quarterback Brock Huard, who hosts Brock and Salk on Seattle Sports. Over the past few weeks, Huard has found Schneider’s comments regarding many of the Seahawks’ free-agent defensive signings to be particularly noteworthy.

“For the past three weeks, I believe we have heard the phrase ‘He’s a green dot man. Yes, Huard said, “he’s a green dot guy.” Schneider specifically mentioned safety Rayshawn Jenkins and linebackers Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker in his remarks.
The player known as the “green dot” is the one that wears a speaker-equipped helmet, allowing them to hear play calls from the team coordinator and then communicate those calls to other players on the field. That’s always the quarterback on offense. It can vary, but on defense, it’s usually a linebacker—mostly the middle or MIKE linebacker.

Schneider stated this week that Baker would be a would or weakside linebacker and Dodson will be a MIKE.

Schneider: The Seattle Seahawks’ plans for Dodson and Baker, their new linebackers

Huard stated, “It’s usually just the middle linebacker, the quarterback of the defense, like (former Seahawks linebacker) Bobby Wagner.” At other times, it can be different pla

yers, like as Jacksonville safety Rayshawn Jenkins, or other linebackers. John has discussed that with some of the players they have signed, as you have heard.
