Breaking News : Fabrizio Romano gives take on Milan huge linked to €38m Chelsea signing following 8 month ban on key starter

Fabrizio Romano has acknowledged that AC Milan were interested in Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile during the January transfer window and denied speculations that they would attempt again in the summer.

Chelsea bought Badiashile from Monaco for €38 million in January 2023, but the 23-year-old has struggled with injuries, as have many other players at the club.

According to reports, the centre-back might be one of the players sold by the Blues before the start of the next season in order to relieve financial strains and make room for new signings.

Milan were linked with Badiashile several times in the run-up to the January transfer window as they sought to alleviate their defensive crisis, and his name was discussed again in February.

In his Daily Briefing piece, Romano addressed suggestions that Milan may try again for the Frenchman.

“AC Milan is reportedly targeting Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile. AC Milan expressed interest in January, but there has been no determination on what they would do this summer,” he stated.

“Aside from the decision to bring in a new vital striker, AC Milan’s summer plans are still in the early stages. Also, Chelsea has not made a decision on Badiashile yet. We’ll see what happens in the summer; nothing is occurring right now.
