Darwin Núñez responds to Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool transfer hints without clapping

Darwin Núñez, a Liverpool striker, finished the season on the bench under Jürgen Klopp. He has since ignited transfer speculation, with reports of interest from Barcelona.

Darwin Núñez has stated that unpleasant comments and criticism have damaged him following a rough season. The Liverpool striker scored once in over two months in the Premier League and finished the season outside of Jürgen Klopp’s starting lineup.

Núñez stoked transfer speculation by removing Liverpool-related information from his social media profiles. He had been subjected to unwarranted vitriol following some poor performances, and he had also taken the initiative to block Reds fan accounts.

According to SPORT, the Uruguayan has subsequently emerged as a target for Barcelona, but is expected to be a vital player under new manager Arne Slot.

Núñez maintains a positive attitude and believes in his abilities to overcome doubts. “From the moment you start playing and until you retire, there will always be someone who will criticize you,” he told Por la Jersey.

“Before, I looked at them a lot, which affected me. Whoever claims that negative comments do not effect them is lying; bad comments directed at you will always affect you. But now I dismiss those comments since they serve no purpose to me.

“I’m not looking at anything, including the wonderful stuff. If a game goes poorly for me, I turn to my family. What happened in the game has already occurred, and there is always vengeance.”

Núñez made headlines again after Sunday’s triumph over Wolves for not clapping Klopp during his guard of honor at Anfield. He has had a strong relationship with the German during his time at Anfield, and he recalled his words following the March win over Nottingham Forest.

The home crowd abused the striker with chants of’s*** Andy Carroll’ before he scored a stunning winner. He continued, “During that game, the Forest fans were singing to me.

“But thankfully, I didn’t comprehend anything. I ended up scoring on the hour, and the coach (Jürgen Klopp) in the locker room said,’screw them’.”

042sport.co.uk says: It was a difficult end to the season for Núñez but this summer is a fresh start for everyone at Anfield and he looks to feature heavily in Slot’s plans. Most Liverpool fans would agree there is a very good player in there but he must make tweaks to his game to reach the next level.
