The Miami Dolphins have selected the top likely place for former first-round quarterback

The quarterback talk in Miami seems to never end, and this offseason is no exception. Although most discussions have focused on starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and ongoing contract negotiations, a familiar figure might join the quarterback group in 2024.

According to CBS Sports, Ryan Tannehill is a potential quarterback prospect for the Dolphins. It would be a complete circle event for the quarterback, who was selected eighth overall by Miami in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Tannehill led the Dolphins offense for six years before being traded to the Tennessee Titans. The quarterback achieved new heights in his first season in Nashville, defeating the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs and led the team to the AFC Championship. The following year, Tannehill had 3,819 passing yards and 33 touchdowns, a career high.

His production began to decline in the years that followed, and after a poor 2022 season, the Titans began to consider a succession plan. Tannehill was replaced midway through the 2023 season by Will Levis, a rookie quarterback.

In a new era for the Titans, Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry are leaving while Levis takes over the offense. Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard are new additions to Levis’ offensive lineup.

If Tannehill returns to Miami, he will share a quarterback room with Tagovailoa, Mike White, and Skylar Thompson. White was the primary backup in 2023, appearing in six games and completing five passes for 74 yards, one score, and an interception.
