Miami Dolphins: 26-Game Starter Reports Serious Injury Information

The Miami Dolphins had extremely high expectations going into the 2024 season. With a regular season record of 11-6, the Dolphins guaranteed a spot in the postseason. Nevertheless, they suffered a humiliating 26-7 loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the wild card game.

One of their starters had some extremely important news to share before the 2024 season began.

The 26-game starter for the Miami Dolphins has released a major injury update.
Linebacker Jaelan Phillips of the Miami Dolphins is questionable for 2024 after sustaining an Achilles tear in the second half of the previous campaign.

Phillips claims, though, that his recuperation is doing rather nicely.

“I feel fantastic. Philips stated, “I’ve been attacking the rehab,” according to Scott Salomon of Mike Farrell Sports. It has been a laborious procedure. It’s moments like these that teach you a lot about who you are. It is adversity that strengthens us.

In Week 12 of the 2023 season, Phillips suffered the injury in the midst of a rough stretch for the pass rusher.

The 25-year-old has at least one sack in five straight games at that point.
He participated in eight games during the season and finished with 43 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and one interception.

After attending both UCLA and the University of Miami for his college football career, Phillips was chosen by the Dolphins with the 18th overall choice of the 2021 NFL Draft.

During his debut season, he played in every game and finished with 42 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. In 2022, he played in all 16 games once more and finished with 61 stops, seven sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.

Miami’s defense might prove to be a liability in 2024, in part because of injury concerns.

Edge rusher Bradley Chubb, who also sustained an ACL tear late in the previous season, won’t return until the middle of the campaign.

A number of important defenders were also lost by the Dolphins in free agency, including defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who joined the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Dolphins finished the previous season with the 10th-best yards allowed and the 22nd-best points allowed per game in the league. It will be intriguing to observe their efforts to advance in 2024.
