WATCH: Alcaraz And Djokovic Meet Each Other On Wimbledon Practice Courts

In a thrilling five-set final, Alcaraz memorably overcame the Serbian great to win his first Wimbledon title and his second Grand Slam. He took retribution for losing to Djokovic in the Roland Garros quarterfinal a few weeks prior, when his body gave in to cramping.

Djokovic traveled to London and practiced, but the loss kept him from matching Roger Federer’s record of eight victories won by a male player in the event. It is uncertain if Djokovic will play this year.

The 37-year-old has fully recovered from surgery to treat a knee ailment that he worsened during the 2024 Roland Garros. However, he said that until he could commit to playing, he would be taking things day by day.

After losing early in Queen’s, Alcaraz came to Wimbledon this past week and wasted little time on the practice courts. The two guys who faced off in last year’s Wimbledon final and emerged victorious in the previous two met this week when Djokovic joined him.

Alcaraz met Djokovic at the exit after his Monday practice, in which he was seen working out alongside WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. Djokovic was most likely making his way inside the grounds.

Djokovic is quoted as stating, “I’m trying,” by Manuel Sánchez of EFE Noticias after the two players were seen cuddling. My progress has been swift. “Young people are animals,” he said after recuperating from his wounds.

Wimbledon posted a brief film of the two players from last year’s final hugging each other after the match and their most recent reunion on the same property superimposed over one another.
