Buffalo Bills’ Sean McDermott Responds to Critics of Von Miller: ‘He’s Determined to Prove Himself’

There’s no denying that Buffalo Bills veteran Von Miller is advancing in age. The three-time All-Pro linebacker has also been hindered by injuries in recent seasons, leading to doubts about his ability to make a significant impact for the Bills this coming season.

However, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott isn’t buying into the skepticism.

**Buffalo Bills News: Sean McDermott’s Confidence in Von Miller**

During a recent appearance on former Buffalo center Eric Wood’s podcast, McDermott expressed his unwavering confidence in Miller’s abilities. Despite the criticisms, McDermott remains steadfast in his belief that the eight-time Pro Bowler still has plenty to offer:

“First year off an ACL is an uphill climb,” McDermott said (via Michael David Smith of PFT). “Now we’re into the second year off the injury, excited to see what he can do, how he’s moving, and how he’s going to impact our team. You never count a player or a person like Von Miller out. I know some people would say age and the injury, and that’s real, but you’re talking about a guy also, and this is where the hope comes from, a guy that’s going to be in the Hall of Fame. He’s got an incredible mindset, and he, I think, has something to prove, and I think he would say that. We’re excited about seeing how that all fleshes out over the course of the next couple months.”

As McDermott noted, Miller wasn’t at full strength last season while recovering from a significant ACL injury. It now seems the 35-year-old is back to full fitness, and as the Bills coach mentioned, Miller is determined to silence his doubters in 2024.
