Liverpool in ‘concrete talks’ for player exit – Reds reject first offer, situation ongoing

Liverpool are in ‘concrete conversations’ with RB Leipzig over teenager Tyler Morton, with the German club still interested in him.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leipzig initially sought a loan with the option to buy.

That, however, is not a deal Liverpool is interested in, and negotiations to sign the 21-year-old continue.

The writer makes it obvious that Leipzig has a long-standing interest in Morton and intends to sign him this summer.

Concrete discussions have taken place, but Liverpool is not interested in the ‘loan system’. The notion is that they are open to a loan deal, but not in the way that RB Leipzig has presented it.
The essential point is that Morton can see himself joining Leipzig and appears to be receptive to the notion, albeit no agreement has yet been reached.

Liverpool may be wary to ratify such a move after what happened to Fabio Carvalho this season, when he was loaned to the German team for the season but was eventually cut short since he had rarely played.

Perhaps they want to avoid the same thing happening here, or, alternatively, ensuring that if a loan is made, it ends with a definitive agreement rather than an option.

That remains to be known, but conversations are already started regarding Morton, so expect further developments soon.
