Dean Henderson picks out young Man Utd playmaker as one of most underrated players in the Premier League

Many talented young players at Manchester United will be hoping to continue leaving their imprint on the team as the new season begins.

While Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo are now representing their nations at the Copa America and European Championships, one outstanding player is already getting ready for 2024–2025.

Amad Diallo, a youthful playmaker, showcased his characteristic quick footwork in a brief training video, effortlessly slipping by an opponent since joining Carrington in early 2021.

Amad started to establish himself in the first team towards the close of the previous season, following a sporadic three years marked by two loan periods and injuries.

It’s wonderful to watch Amad start realizing his full potential. He was excellent in the latter part of last season, particularly in a late-season triumph against Newcastle at home.

This Thursday, Dean Henderson, a former teammate at Manchester United, singled out the 21-year-old for admiration.

While representing England at Euro 2024, Henderson was asked to select the most underappreciated player he had ever played with or against in an interview with the Lion’s Den on YouTube.

Roberto Firmino of Liverpool was his first response, but it wasn’t the kind he was looking for.

When asked to choose a lesser-known name, Henderson quickly replied with Amad Diallo.

Says he, “Amad Diallo.” He has undoubtedly made a splash this season. He is the best of the best.

Henderson thinks Amad’s high caliber potential is being overlooked because he witnessed Amad up close during training sessions.

Amad’s season ended just as he was starting to take off, and many thought he had established himself as the favorite to start the FA Cup Final.
