Red Sox lineup: Two regulars not starting vs. Yankees righty Gerrit Cole

NEW YORK — On Saturday against Yankees righty Gerrit Cole, right-handed hitters Tyler O’Neill and Connor Wong will not get the start.

At Yankee Stadium, game two of this three-game series begins at 1:05 p.m. Boston pulled out a 5-3 victory on Friday. In the ninth inning, Masataka Yoshida hit a two-run home ball to right field with two outs.

Wilyer Abreu, a left-handed hitter, will play right field and bat third. He did not start Friday’s game against the left-handed starter.

Left-hander Reese McGuire will start in relief of Josh Winckowski (2-1, 2.80 ERA).

After not beginning on Friday, David Hamilton is back in the starting lineup. He plays shortstop and is batting second.
