Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz relationship links, ‘boyfriend ban’ and divorce from millionaire ex

Emma Raducanu was in attendance as Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final on Sunday amid reports of a potential romance developing between the British tennis star and the Spaniard.

Emma Raducanu ignited rumors of a romance when she was observed watching Carlos Alcaraz win his second Wimbledon title against Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

Rumours circulated that the 21-year-old Brit was dating the Spanish star, particularly after she witnessed him reclaim his SW19 title from the legendary Djokovic. During a post-match press conference, Alcaraz quickly refuted rumors of a growing romance with Raducanu.

When asked about her presence, the young champion said, “I’m not sure. I suppose a lot of people came to watch the final.” He continued, “Novak and I usually play a terrific match; it’s a beautiful match to watch. And she’s from here, so I guess she wanted to see it.

“If there was a Grand Slam in Murcia, I would definitely watch the finals. I’m not sure if she came to the finals or to see me. Who knows. You’ll have to interrogate her, but I hope she loved the finale.” Raducanu has expressed professional appreciation for Alcaraz, stating that she had been closely monitoring his performances at Wimbledon and drew inspiration from his skills.

She said, “The last few matches I’ve been following Carlos, and it’s really nice to watch before my own match. And occasionally, in particular circumstances, you want to emulate specific shots or whatever.”

Is Raducanu single?
Before reaching the green courts of Wimbledon, tennis sensation Raducanu was romantically involved with Carlo Agostinelli, the son of millionaire Robert Agostinelli, chairman and co-founder of Rhone Group and brother of Made In Chelsea’s Heloise Agostinelli. The couple apparently began dating in May 2023, but it appears the romance was not meant to stay, since they parted last month.

Raducanu has even unfollowed her ex-beau on social media, which has not gone unnoticed. A source told the Daily Mail: “Emma has 2.4 million Instagram followers, but Carlo is no longer one of them.” It appears that their romance has run its course.”

‘Boyfriend bans’
Raducanu has previously revealed that her parents, Ion and Renee, imposed a ‘dating ban’ during her childhood to keep her focused on tennis. Speaking to The Times, she revealed: “My parents were very much against [boyfriends] because they interfered with training.”

She said, “When I was younger, I wasn’t even permitted to hang out with my female pals. I was often really resentful. But it gave me a lot of confidence and comfort in my own business, which is a huge advantage.”

Raducanu thinks she was pushed into tennis at a young age, something she now appreciates given her success on the court. She stated, “Initially, my father forced me to play tennis. I didn’t like it at first, but as I grew older and tennis became more important to me, I began to push myself.

“I’ve seen some fantastic juniors who had far more tolerant parents who said, ‘It’s okay if you lose,’ and those players no longer play tennis, so I don’t blame my parents. I am really grateful and have no regrets about any of their techniques.”

The young star is still looking for her second Grand Slam championship, following her success at the US Open in 2021. Raducanu won singles matches over Renata Zarazua, Elise Mertens, and Maria Sakkari at Wimbledon 2024 before losing to Lulu Sun in the round of 16 with scores of 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
