Klay Thompson Posts Funny Video Joking About Possibly Playing for the Warriors in the Future Season

Even though Klay Thompson is no longer with the Golden State Warriors, he still jokes around with Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. Thompson posted a video on his Instagram story mocking his upcoming matchup with the Golden State Warriors in the next season.

“I’m in tears! Sonny made a swift switch.”

Thompson posted a clip from the motion picture “You Got Served.” The movie’s Sonny, who betrays the heroes and assists their opponents by teaching them their dance routine, bears Thompson’s name. Given that Sonny and the antagonists lose to the protagonists—who are identified in this video as Draymond and Curry—fans may be wondering why Thompson included this film.

It’s encouraging to see that Green, Curry, and Thompson don’t hold any grudges over his departure from the Warriors.

That being said, Thompson and the Warriors organization cannot be seen in the same light. Klay apparently wanted to continue with them, but they wouldn’t give him what he wanted, turning down his $40 million, two-year offer.

Thompson would sign a three-year contract with the Mavericks, receiving $50 million over that time. In an attempt to make it back to the NBA Finals the following year, Thompson will join the NBA Finalists, who will also be bolstered by additional firepower surrounding Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.

Although Thompson’s recent pick-up game film may have alarmed some fans, it’s logical to assume that a player of his age and with Thompson’s injury history won’t give it his all in a casual pick-up game. We’ll know more about Thompson’s skill level and suitability with the Mavericks.

Next year, Klay Thompson might lead the Mavericks to victory.
The Mavericks made a great pick in Klay Thompson. In addition to being a consistent and trustworthy scorer, he also carries with him championship experience, which is a priceless asset. Before Klay arrived, nobody on the Mavericks roster—aside from Kyrie Irving—had ever won an NBA title.

Being a key player in all four of the Warriors’ NBA title victories from 2015 to 2022, Thompson contributed significantly to the team’s dynasty. That kind of experience has no value, and Thompson gives the team a significant amount of maturity.

The outstanding defender Thompson was prior to his knee injury is no longer there. However, he has the potential to be the team’s most valuable defender if he can return to his pre-injury level of play, especially since Doncic and Irving’s backcourt isn’t exactly renowned for its defensive prowess.

With the Warriors the previous season, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. Thompson adding a comparable amount of scoring to the lineup will be very beneficial.

Klay Thompson’s acquisition by the Mavericks was deemed a no-brainer by general manager Nico Harrison. The Mavericks are now among the top teams in the Western Conference as a result of this change.

The Mavericks need Thompson to be a reliable player who can score double digits, not necessarily one of the top players on the court, unlike with the Warriors last season.
