Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb expected to hold out of training camp

Dallas Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb expected to hold out of training camp as QB Dak Prescott eyes record $70m-a-year deal

CeeDee Lamb, one of the Dallas Cowboys’ greatest players, is anticipated to be sidelined when training camp begins.

After failing to secure a lucrative contract deal thus far this offseason, Lamb will not be playing on the field in Oxnard, California.

The best wide receiver for the Cowboys is about to enter the final year of a contract that will pay him little less than $18 million.

Last season, Lamb had the most receiving yards (1,749) in the NFC, just 50 yards less than league leader Tyreek Hill.

Along with boat racing the rest of the NFL, the former Oklahoma Sooner finished with 135 receptions, 16 more than Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who were tied for second place.

The Cowboys are under constant pressure to win, which makes the news of Lamb’s holdout much more problematic.

Star quarterback Dak Prescott is in the last year of his contract, and according to Heavy.com, he expects to demand up to $70 million annually in his next contract.

All that money for never leading the Cowboys to the postseason’s Divisional round.

Lamb was selected in the 2020 deep wide receiver draft along with Brandon Aiyuk and Justin Jefferson.

Only one of the three receivers, Jefferson, received the significant salary increases that all three have been vocally demanding this offseason.

Aiyuk is anticipated to be at the San Francisco 49ers’ training camp, despite reports that he requested a trade last week.

The Cowboys finished 12-5 the previous season, but the Green Bay Packers thoroughly outclassed them in the Wild Card round.
