Eagles Veteran Announces Retirement Following 2024 Season

Future Hall-of-Fame center Jason Kelce elected to retire this offseason, leaving the Philadelphia Eagles with the sad burden of having to replace a franchise legend this season.

Another team legend has declared that the 2024 season will be his final one in the NFL, therefore they will need to take the same action the following year.

In a recent interview from training camp that KYW News Radio published, defensive end Brandon Graham declared that this season will be his 15th and final year with the Eagles. Graham also stated that this is his “last first day as a player” and that he is unsure of what comes after that.

Graham went on to say that he is grateful and makes an effort to savor each day without hurrying to take it all in.

Rumor had it that Graham and Kelce were planning to part ways this offseason, but Graham chose to stick around for one more season on a $4 million one-year contract before calling it quits.

Graham, who is 36 years old, only registered three sacks in the previous season after recording a career-high 11 in 2022 while winning the Super Bowl.

There is not as much pressure on Graham to be the star that he once was because this club has so many talented pass rushers. However, in his one year left, the Eagles will undoubtedly be hoping he can impart some of his knowledge to the younger players.

Although it will be difficult to lose the team’s two main players on both sides of the ball in consecutive offseasons, Eagles supporters should be able to enjoy Graham’s final season in Philadelphia because they knew this day would come.
