Angela Cullen intended to leave the motorsport industry after over ten years of collaboration with Lewis Hamilton. She found herself back in pit lane a little over a year later.
“The British Olympic team’s 100- and 200-meter sprinters were my first competitors in athletics.

“In 2004 I accompanied them to the Olympics in Athens. The only time Britain had beaten Jamaica or the United States was when we won a gold medal.
At the end of 2023, Cullen and Hamilton split up.

Cullen made his first appearance in public at an IndyCar event at The Thermal Club, his first after becoming silent on the radio for almost a year.

She got to know fellow Kiwi Marcus Armstrong through a sponsorship arrangement, and they soon started working together.

“I thought I was moving away from motorsport when I left Formula 1,” the woman clarified.

Since I was genuinely retired, I took a year off last year. During that time, I got in touch with Marcus Armstrong and we began working on mental skills and other background work.

We share a lot of values. We have strong work ethics and fierce competition, so I was thrilled to find that he shared same qualities when we first met.

We became friends as a result, and when he asked if I wanted to attend a race, I answered, “Oh yeah, I would love to.”

“I’m interested in the driver and their performance, but most people involved in motorsports are about the cars,” the author said.

Cullen said she was instantly hooked on IndyCar even though she wanted to move away from motorsport.

She exclaimed, “IndyCar just hit me.”

It’s a ton of fun. I still fell in love with Therma, even though it had no fans, which was amazing.

“The drivers and the racing are amazing, and the level of skill exhibited by all in the paddock amazed me, so I came and I’m still here.”

Cullen stated that she and Armstrong are still getting to know one another and comprehending one another’s methods.

“What sets them apart, as with all exceptional athletes, is their unwavering commitment, perseverance, and conviction that their ultimate goal is to achieve perfection,” the speaker stated.

“You’ll discover that athletes in every discipline give their all to pursue their one goal, and it’s incredibly motivating to work with them to make that happen.

Since we’ve just been working together for approximately three months, I focus a lot of my coaching on getting to know my clients as individuals before assisting in finding ways to be of assistance to them.

“We’re probably just beginning to figure out how that will function in the future.”
