Andy Murray tells Roger Federer that he has ‘let himself go’ after retiring from tennis

Andy Murray has recently joined Roger Federer in retirement.
Andy Murray made a sarcastic comment on one of Roger Federer’s social media posts as the Swiss great returned to the US Open.
Federer came to New York to promote his new initiative and went to Flushing Meadows on Tuesday night to witness Frances Tiafoe and company.

Murray joked that the 20-time Grand Slam champion had “let himself go” after sharing a photo dump from his trip to New York.

Since retiring at the 2022 Laver Cup, Federer has never been absent from tennis. In recent years, he has competed at Wimbledon as well as ATP events in Halle and Shanghai. Earlier this week, he returned to the US Open.

On Tuesday, the 42-year-old was spotted watching Aryna Sabalenka vs Qinwen Zheng and Grigor Dimitrov vs Frances Tiafoe from the comfort of a suite in Arthur Ashe Stadium, where he was given a standing ovation when his name was revealed on the big screen.

Away from the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Centre, Federer ate pizza and taped a sneaker shopping video to promote his new Assouline photography book. He posted his vacation on Instagram, which drew Murray’s attention.

The former world number one has gone out on the course multiple times since his farewell match. This week, he took his first golf lesson. And he’ll put his abilities to the test later this month at the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am.

Meanwhile, Federer is slated to attend the Laver Cup in Berlin from September 20 to 22. In 2017, the Swiss star co-created the team event with his manager, Tony Godsick. He represented Team Europe four times and had his final appearance at the competition two years ago, partnering with Rafael Nadal in a doubles match.
