‘CATASTROPHIC’ problems for Red Bull as Horner is instructed to handle Verstappen’s performance

Christian Horner has received a warning from a Formula 1 icon as Red Bull worries that McLaren will win both titles due to their recent difficulties.

After completely dominating the field in 2023, Max Verstappen is already the reigning world champion, but things haven’t been that easy this season.

This year, the 26-year-old had a strong start, taking first place in five of the first seven events.

The Dutchman has only triumphed twice in the previous nine races, in the Spanish GP and the Canadian Grand Prix.

To ease Verstappen’s problems, Horner needs to address Red Bull’s issues.

Red Bull’s season has gotten worse since they revealed Adrian Newey’s impending exit, and they have now lost seven races.

On the Formula For Success podcast, former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan chastised team principal Horner for the way he has been running the team lately.

“Show me the upgrades because, sure as heaven, those upgrades have not worked,” he remarked.

“You’re playing tricks on yourself. You’re attempting to accept the existence of a wind tunnel that is tricking your calculations.

It’s disastrous right now. Christian Horner has a huge task ahead of him since he must grab the big stick and begin to shatter it.”

Jordan continued by saying that Verstappen’s recent performance reveals the real speed of their vehicle: “Perez and that car—that’s the speed of the car—we were all slagging off. Max is capable of performing what he is doing.

“Therefore to finish fifth, fourth and sixth or whatever… Jesus, it must be killing him at this stage.”

Last week, after finishing outside the top five in Monza, three-time world champion Max Verstappen expressed his reservations about the car, calling it a “monster.”

Red Bull will need to address the wind tunnel problems and find a solution as soon as possible if they hope to retain both of their titles this year.
