Rafa Nadal’s parting remarks from Garbine Muguruza: “He’s ready to retire; why continue on the court?”

Rafa Nadal’s future is still up in the air. The 38-year-old Spanish player declared recently that he would not be participating in the Laver Cup, which takes place from September 20–22. Nadal is now considering his options.

“Not a drama. Decisions are being made, and this was one of the options. It’s been a while since I competed. Someone else will perform better. Regarding his future, Rafa Nadal recently stated, “I have no problems.”

“I was ready for it, really. I was receiving physical cues from life. During her trip to New York, Garbine Muguruza told Tennis.com, “I was excited to start a new chapter.”

Rafa Nadal, according to the former tennis player, “is also ready.” Everything about him, body and mind. Time to appreciate his son, too. When he is with his son, I always see him grinning. Why do you still play tennis? Return home, board a boat, and visit Mallorca? He gave everything he had, in my opinion.

Considering the future

They had met in April of last year, but their discussion of the matter ended there.

“Due to his extreme shyness, it’s challenging to get to know him well. He said nothing more, but this is my last year. I don’t inquire about personal matters with him,” stated an individual who remains involved in tennis-related affairs.

“I was expecting to be more at home, but I’m actually traveling a lot—in a nice manner. I’m not anxious, agitated, or carrying my 55 rackets. “I’m content traveling this way,” Garbine said.
