Derrick Henry reveals he took Cowboys membership snub personally

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 1-2 on the year and despite their valiant comeback in the second half of Sunday ‘s game against the Baltimore Ravens , it ‘s been a disappointing start to the year for Big D. The defense held its own after a rough start , but it was another losing day at the office for Mike Zimmer ‘s group , which was swept by Derrick Henry .

Henry was a major talking point going into the game . After signing with the Ravens, Henry admitted that he would have signed with the Cowboys if Jerry Jones had made an offer. Indeed, Jones should have met Henry in the salary cap space , but he didn’t even call the free agent at the time.

The Cowboys fan felt like Henry was about to make a statement . Not only did he demonstrate that on the field , but he also revealed as much to NFL Media ‘s Jane Slater before the start. Henry, who resides in Dallas during the winter, informed Slater that there were about 20 people in the stands cheering for him.

For all the wrong reasons , the Cowboys ‘ rushing attack has been a major talking point through two games . Rico Dowdle has been the best pass rusher in the room, but the backfield lacks a real difference – maker .

Henry took it very personally that Dallas did n’t even call . He ran through Zimmer ‘s defense for 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns , while recording 20 receiving yards . He had a migraine all afternoon.

If the Cowboys had continued their comeback, we would have approached this story from a different perspective , but unfortunately, that did n’t last long. There ‘s no denying that Dallas could have used Henry, especially in this game , as their turnover attack was again a non-factor . The offense had just 51 rushing yards on 3.2 yards per carry and the only rushing touchdown was by Dak Prescott .

Henry would have been a nice addition to the Cowboys offense , but they decided not to bring him in . If they had him , it might not have changed the course of their season at this point . The defense has not been effective and the entire offense has struggled in the last two games .

At least Henry would have brought more balance to a defense that is extremely reliant on Prescott and CeeDee Lamb .
