Roger Federer’s agent responds when asked if he will come out of retirement to play Rafael Nadal

Roger Federer is among the most popular people in tennis history, if not the most

The sport has not been the same since his retirement in 2022. He was a cool, collected, and classy personality who emanated class both on and off the court.

Despite Novak Djokovic’s incredible 2023, it was the beginning of the end for the Big Three; this idea is best illustrated by the fact that none of this illustrious trio won any of the four Grand Slams this year.

But it seems like Roger Federer might be tempted to come out of retirement by the opportunity to play one more match with a particular individual more than by the desire for greater glory.

Roger Federer is thinking about retiring

Speaking with Marca, Tony Godsick was questioned about Federer—the man who came up with the idea for this spectacular weekend event—as the Laver Cup came to a dramatic climax.

The topic of discussion in this interview was whether the Swiss superstar, who is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, would even consider retiring from the game, despite the fact that many have praised the tournament for bringing together some of the best players in the world in such a unique format.

Even though Team Europe lost, it felt like an appropriate tribute for him to end his career at the Laver Cup in 2022.

Of course, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer’s doubles partnership dominated the weekend.

“Since the new Santiago Bernabéu was built, there have been many rumors about the possibility of Nadal and Federer playing an exhibition match,” the interviewer seemed to allude to this when they questioned Federer’s agent. Is this a viable choice?

“Since he retired, Roger has not wanted to play another match until he feels physically fit,” Godsick retorted.

“I consider the attendance record they achieved in South Africa.” We enjoy taking on big tasks. I’m sure Roger will take it into consideration if he ever has the chance to break that record.

The Spaniard is one of two players who have filled this power void, therefore it’s amusing that Andy Roddick has compared Carlos Alcaraz to Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Everybody in tennis would pause to watch Roger Federer take on Rafael Nadal once more.

Even as a lighthearted exhibition match, the tennis world would presumably come to a stop to watch if this match were scheduled.

After all, when they have shared the court in previous exhibition matches, these two have already broken records.

Few could forget their memorable “Battle of Surfaces,” in which they competed on a court that cost an estimated $1.63 million to build and consisted of half clay and half grass.

The two then returned to the stage 13 years later in South Africa, where they dazzled a crowd of 51,000 spectators in a match known as the “Match for Africa.”

But that record-breaking attendance would be quickly broken if they played at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, which is the home of Real Madrid, the team that Rafael Nadal supports.

After all, the arena can accommodate up to 85,000 people thanks to a recent renovation.

How tempting it would be to lure Roger Federer out of retirement for one final game…
