Sergio Perez is offered a contract by Red Bull but they turn down his counteroffer

According to sources from Mexico, Red Bull rejected Sergio Perez’s counter-offer and instead extended a new contract to keep him.

Despite severe scrutiny to retain the second Red Bull, the Mexican driver has performed well this season.

This season marks Perez’s contract expiration, and Red Bull is aware that skilled drivers from all across the paddock are vying for their car.

However, it is said that Perez’s performances have persuaded them to keep him—at least for a year.

Perez has received a one-year contract from Red Bull for the 2025 campaign, according to Fox Sports Mexico.

However, they say that Perez has returned a counterproposal for a two-year contract, which Red Bull has rejected.

The sources from Perez’s own country state that “the team already has the contract; it is for one year.”

When they brought it to Checo, he remarked, “Well, we should review it.”

“Checo’s lawyers are in that process, but Red Bull immediately rejected a two-year counterproposal that Checo submitted.”

Still, the transaction is not off the table.

It was still possible to come to a one-year agreement with a two-year option.

After the F1 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, Christian Horner, the team principal for Red Bull, made some extremely thoughtful remarks on Perez’s future.

Horner stated, “We are fully aware of our options and where we are in the driver market, which is playing out.”

“We’ll decide on the future at the appropriate time for us.

When questioned about working with Perez to negotiate a contract, Horner said, “I wouldn’t expect that to be an issue because Checo’s always a very straightforward guy to deal with.”

This season, Perez has earned four podium finishes, and each time, teammate Verstappen has won the grand prix, meaning their employer has had an incredible outcome.
