Carlos Alcaraz is “delighted” to have surpassed Rafael Nadal and is already on track to win 300 matches after setting a record with his 200 wins

After John McEnroe, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz became the second-fastest person to win 200 matches on the ATP Tour.

The rising star in Spanish tennis, Carlos Alcaraz, is demonstrating his greatness with each match that goes by. Alcaraz has won four Grand Slam championships on all three surfaces at the young age of 21. He is currently the youngest person to hold the top spot in the world. Sunday, September 29, marked yet another accomplishment for the 21-year-old.

Alcaraz won his 200th match on the ATP Tour in the 2024 China Open after overcoming Tallon Griekspoor in the second round. Interestingly, Alcaraz defeated the same player at Indian Wells in 2023 to earn his 100th victory, which led to his 200th victory.

With just 52 losses along the road, Alcaraz now holds the record for being the second-fastest person to reach 200 victories. On the list of 29 players who have held the top spot and achieved 200 victories, only John McEnroe has a higher ranking than him.

Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam winner, was surpassed by Alcaraz on this list as well, having suffered 55 defeats prior to recording his 200th victory. While Alcaraz feels proud, the former World No. 1 is already targeting 300 wins.

With his 200th victory on Sunday, Alcaraz’s winning percentage at the tour level reached an astounding 79. As a result, he is now among the top 10 players with the best winning percentage, moving up the rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz is constantly seeking victory.

Carlos Alcaraz went on to discuss his 200 victories in a brief amount of time. The Spaniard expressed his pride at rising to the top so rapidly and promised to keep winning more and more races.

Alcaraz has won 45 of the 54 games they have played so far this season, which is fantastic. This year, he not only won his first Olympic medal but also secured his first Roland Garros trophy. In the Wimbledon final, the Spaniard also triumphed over Novak Djokovic for the second year in a row.

Alcaraz led Team Europe to victory at the Laver Cup, despite a lackluster performance at the US Open. He is now in China and is aiming to win his fourth championship of the year. Next up for Alcaraz in the quarterfinals is Karen Khachanov.
