BREAKING NEWS: Lions acquire DL David Bada

On Thursday, the defensive lineman was selected by the Lions.

David Bada, a defensive tackle, has been added to the team’s 90-man roster, according to the NFL’s daily transaction report. The Lions received an exemption for Bada as an international player, therefore no matching trade was required to get him on the roster.

German-born Bada played for a number of European teams before joining the Commanders in 2020 as a member of the International Player Pathway Program. After playing in two games in 2022, Bada concluded his four-year tenure with Washington. During those games, Bada was given credit for two tackles.

D.J. Reader is on the physically unable to perform list, so the Lions are short one lineman. Bada provides them with some depth until he returns.
