Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo Apparently Has Best Nickname On Team USA

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has one nickname already.

He goes by a different name when he plays for Team USA, though.

Recently, the Olympic roster started making fun of his alias, “Bamonte,” once more. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday were heard on a video declaring that the moniker was the greatest on the team.

While walking off the practice court in 2020, Adebayo and teammate JaVale McGee struck into a chat that gave rise to the name. McGee didn’t know what Adebayo’s actual first name was abbreviated as. Adebayo initially answered by stating that BAM stands for “By Any Means” Required. Then McGee corrected him, saying, “No, that’s an acronym.”

His nickname, Bam, comes from the Flinstones character “Bam-Bam,” but McGee was unaware of this. Thus, he surmised that it was Bamonte. For the past four years, the name has persisted. The players on Team USA have been making jokes about it ever since.

In the video, Holiday said, “JaVale McGee asked him what his real name was at the last Olympics.” “He was like, `It’s probably Bamonte or something.” ‘

Jayson Tatum appears to be the one that knows Adebayo the best, based on the footage. When questioned about Adebayo’s true name, Tatum responded as follows:

“I know his social security number, his middle name.”

It’s most likely true because Tatum and Adebayo have been friends since high school. For the previous five years, they have also fought it out for control of the Eastern Conference.
