Daniel Ricciardo ‘ comfortable ‘ with possible end to F1 career as Red Bull decision looms

Daniel Ricciardo says he will be “at peace ” if his F1 career ends after the Singapore Grand Prix .

There has been much speculation over Ricciardo ‘s future , with Red Bull set to switch to VCARB for the United States Grand Prix .

Liam Lawson is set to replace Ricciardo along with Yuki Tsunoda at the COTA race next month .

Although it has not yet been officially announced , scenes following the race in Singapore suggest that Sunday may have been Ricciardo ‘s final lap .

Afterwards , the Australian was emotional, with tears in his eyes as he spoke to F1TV.

Ricciardo also spent plenty of time in his VCARB F1 car before going out , pondering the possibility of driving for the last time .

In his post- race interview with Sky Sports at the Marina Bay Street Circuit , Ricciardo spoke his truth about the situation .

” I ‘m at peace with that ,” Ricciardo said . At some point it will come for everyone. I tried to come back to Red Bull. It did n’t work. It is also necessary to say, what am I ultimately doing here and trying to do ?

In my opinion, when you experience the moments of victory , you can only fight for P10 for so long . This feeling is not comparable and if it is no longer possible and if it becomes a little more difficult… I guess that ‘s the truth.

This year I was able to achieve some moments of maybe greatness, but it was harder to do it weekend after weekend. Maybe it ‘s 35, maybe it’s just that the competition is getting better and better , who knows.

” I have to admit it ‘s been a race – by – race situation ,” Ricciardo added . Obviously I wish the weekend had been better .

He did n’t . I need to prepare for this , maybe that ‘s it .
