Done Deal: RB Alvin Kamara Officially Joins Dallas Cowboys on Long-Term Deal
Dallas, TX – In a blockbuster move that has sent shockwaves through the NFL, star running back Alvin Kamara has officially signed with the Dallas Cowboys on a long-term deal. The former New Orleans Saints playmaker, known for his electrifying speed, versatility, and elite playmaking ability, is set to bolster the Cowboys’ offense for years to come.
The Cowboys’ head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, expressed his enthusiasm about acquiring Kamara, calling it a “game-changing addition” that will elevate the team’s Super Bowl aspirations.
Kamara, a five-time Pro Bowler, has been a cornerstone of the Saints’ offense since being drafted in 2017. However, with roster changes, salary cap issues, and a shift in the Saints’ long-term vision, trade talks had been swirling around the 28-year-old running back for months. After negotiations, the Cowboys finalized the deal, securing Kamara on a four-year contract reportedly worth $60 million, with significant guarantees and performance-based incentives.
“This is a dream come true,” Kamara said in his first press conference as a Cowboy. “Dallas has always been one of the biggest franchises in the league, and I’m excited to bring my energy, my talent, and my hunger for championships here. I can’t wait to get started.”
The Cowboys have been in search of a premier running back since parting ways with Ezekiel Elliott and relying heavily on Tony Pollard last season. While Pollard showcased impressive speed and agility, the Cowboys lacked a dual-threat weapon who could dominate both as a rusher and a receiver out of the backfield. Kamara is expected to fill that role perfectly.
Coach Schottenheimer spoke highly of Kamara’s unique skill set and how he fits into the Cowboys’ offensive plans.
“Alvin is one of the most dynamic backs in the game. His ability to make plays on the ground and through the air gives us incredible flexibility in our offensive schemes. He’ll be a huge asset in both the run and pass game, and I’m confident he will make an immediate impact,” said Schottenheimer.
With quarterback Dak Prescott leading the offense, alongside top receivers CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, the addition of Kamara makes the Cowboys’ attack one of the most dangerous in the NFL. His presence in the backfield will force opposing defenses to adjust, creating more opportunities for explosive plays downfield.
The departure of Kamara marks the end of an era for the New Orleans Saints, where he was the face of their offense alongside Drew Brees for several seasons. The Saints will now look to their younger running backs, including Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller, to fill the void.
Saints’ head coach Dennis Allen expressed gratitude for Kamara’s contributions over the years.
“Alvin has been a leader for this team, both on and off the field. He’s given everything to this organization, and we wish him nothing but success in Dallas,” Allen said.
With this signing, the Cowboys have made it clear that they are all in for a deep playoff run and a shot at their first Super Bowl title since 1995. Their offense now has a dangerous balance of power, speed, and skill, and Kamara could be the missing piece to take them over the top.
As Cowboys fans celebrate the arrival of one of the league’s top running backs, all eyes will be on Kamara when he takes the field in the star-studded blue and silver jersey.
The NFL world is watching – and the Cowboys just became even more dangerous.
