Although Rafael Nadal is considered one of the best tennis players of all time, the Spaniard plans to explore another sport after retirement.
Despite his retirement from tennis, Rafael Nadal is still active in sports. Following Spain’s elimination from the Davis Cup quarterfinals by the Netherlands, the 38-year-old Spanish legend recently called it quits on his remarkable tennis career.
Retirement, however, does not imply slowing down for Nadal. He was back on the golf course a few days after he had hung up his racket.
On his native island of Mallorca, a popular destination for golfers, he participated in an amateur golf competition called the Hexagonal Circuit Q-Romia de Son Servera. Nadal scored 76, four strokes over par, to finish seventh in the handicap division.
Nadal’s handicap at his peak has been about -1.0, comparable to some professional players’ handicaps.
In 2012, the former tennis titan participated in his first official competition. He has had a patchy connection with the sport ever since, although he still plays frequently in his spare time.
Nadal participated in the esteemed Balearic Golf Championship in 2020. Even though he faced more experienced competitors, he managed to finish in sixth position.
He also frequently participates in the Sant Sebastia Amateur Golf Championship, which is hosted in Mallorca, same like the Balearic Golf Championship. Nadal’s accomplishments highlight his versatility as a sportsman.
He is a fascinating character off the tennis court because of his performance in golf, which demonstrates his adaptability and unwavering spirit of competition. Sports prowess is nothing new to the Nadal family.
One uncle, Toni Nadal, served as Nadal’s longtime tennis instructor, and another, Miguel Angel Nadal, played football for Barcelona, Mallorca, and Spain.
